Wheaton, Illinois

Arriving Saturday night in time for yet another gourmet spread at the "Forman Bed & Breakfast" as Franz's parents' house is often referred to, we relaxed and enjoyed the idea of staying somewhere more than one night in a row. In fact, we were in Wheaton until Tuesday morning.

We had been anticipating seeing the house for months, as Frank and Joan had been remodeling the main floor for half a year, using a kitchenette they simulateously created in the basement. For whatever reason, I didn't get any pictures of it on that trip, but have included some below that were taken in mid-August at a baby / wedding shower.

They replaced their cabinetry, the flooring, the countertops, the appliances, the lighting, and removed soffits for a beautiful finished product.

They simultaneously removed a hall closet and turned it into a matching butler's pantry, per original house design.

In this picture you can see the hardwood floor that was run throughout the main level, except for the living and dining rooms. A half wall between the two rooms above was also removed. Lots of work!

During our visit, we took the kids to some fun activities: a nearby children's museum, and the Naperville River Walk.

Jackson's favorite exhibit: the car, where he practiced puttin' on the moves for the ladies.
