Renssalaer, Indiana

After a very relaxing weekend visit in Wheaton, we turned the car toward Indiana on Tuesday, June 28. Surprisingly, we encountered no heavy traffic leaving the Chicago area, and arrived in Renssalaer, at Grandma and Grandpa Cummings' house in time for our lunch date. The girls jumped in their car, quite done with our own already, and we ran over to a favorite restaurant.

The food was very good, although Jackson decided he'd rather view it as large projectile pieces rather than sustenance, and peppered the floor around us accordingly. If I recall correctly, he ate mostly saltine crackers for lunch. Thanks for sharing, Grandma! Grandpa's senior meal came with an ice cream, which he was about to decline, but decided to give to the girls instead. They happily chose a peppermint ice cream, and it was delivered in two separate bowls, much to their delight.

After lunch the girls again piled in with Grandpa and Grandma and we decided to drop in on Uncle Roger and Aunt Judy to say hello and see the progress on their house project, which I had last seen the previous year just before they moved in.

What a fun surprise to find out that they were watching Chad and Toni's kids, Chase and Alyssa, for a few days, and the kids could play together.

Jackson is cooperating with this picture in his usual manner. He was probably seconds away from backward head-banging Madeline in the face.

We caught up for a bit, took the home improvement tour, and said our goodbyes, as we were expected in Rochester for dinner.
