Summer Trip

I think we are stabilizing around here now. After being gone nearly the entire summer, we popped back to Phoenix in time to get the girls into school, then took two weekend trips in a row. Now that it is Labor Day weekend, we are staying put, and we have an extra day of "rest," I think we are starting to get caught up.

I purposefully did not include anything about our amazing road trip on the blog this summer. Though regular updates would have been fun, I didn't want to advertise our being away from the house for so long. Just didn't seem like a great idea.

So, it will take several posts to fill you in on the goings-on of June, July, and August. Let's start with the trip stats:

  • 44 days

  • 2 countries

  • 26 states

  • 1 province

  • 7300 miles

  • 126 1/2 hours

  • 42 bathroom stops

  • 19 different places to sleep

  • 600 pounds of luggage loaded and unloaded every morning and evening on the road

  • 4 different motion sickness remedies

  • 3 migraines

  • 0 injuries, accidents, or sicknesses (aside from one accidental fall into a lake, one accidental fall down a flight of stairs, and one accidental fall from a top bunk)

  • 0 speeding tickets

  • innumerable wonderful experiences making new friends, catching up with old friends, and seeing beautiful sights

    • We have stories to tell and pictures to share, so look for those to come!
