Jackson's First Birthday At A Glance

One year ago today, little Jackson was born. I remember that day very well, and can't believe a full twelve months have passed since then. We wne to the doctor's office today. Poor Jackson had to get two shots and have two vials of blood taken (test for milk allergy). Not much of a celebration. Here is a comparison of his stats compared to his 9 month visit:

9 Months
Weight - 21 lbs. 3 oz. (65%)
Height - 29.5 in. (85%)
Head - 17.5 in. (25%)

12 Months
Weight - 22 lbs. 8.5 oz. (45%)
Height - 30.75 in. (80%)
Head - 17.75% (20%)

Well, I'll just give you a brief run-down of the evening's activities so you can feel caught up.

Due to work, errands, and the doctor's appointment, I had about two hours to pull off everything birthday tonight. Thankfully, I'd already baked the cakes, and just had to frost them. Jackson and his six teeth were ready for anything!

He was very appreciative of the taco soup and peas (two of his favorites, which he verbally appreciates with lots of "Mmmmmms!").

But he couldn't get enough of his all-time favorite food - cornbread. He probably consumed a row of the 8x8 pan himself.

Finally it was time for cake (no ice cream for Mr. Dairy Problems, though).

This one was for us (white cake with lemon frosting to accompany the strawberry ice cream), but Jackson got to have his first.

He had a chocolate teddy bear smash cake. It was pretty cute, if I do say so myself.
It was pretty gooey and fun to squish, but it took Jackson awhile to figure out that it was yummy, too.

He didn't really like it sticking to his fingers. Can you blame him?

"How much cake will I have to throw on the floor before they stop taking pictures and get me out of here?"

At last, the present Franz had picked out a year ago for him, and had been waiting impatiently to give him ever since.

I wonder who was having more fun with the dirt movers?

These pictures are awesome. I love Jackson's little sprouts of hair. Franz looks like he's in heaven...he's been waiting many years for this day, I see. Adorable.

Kyle says: "Cornbread?! This kid is meant to live in Indiana."
