Annual Trek to Mission Inn

Well, we're baaack. In Phoenix, that is. And since the holidays are behind us and a new baby is in front of us, I'd better get caught up on the happenings here while there's a lull (if you can call end-of-year financial time a lull).

As usual, we took the girls for a mid-week overnight at Mission Inn in Riverside, California to view their Christmas display, which includes 3 million lights and looks like Santa's workshop with elves moving everywhere. Traditionally, we also eat at the Mexican restaurant at the hotel. The seating is all outside with heaters and fireplaces, under lighted palm trees. It is beautiful.

The girls were glad there were blankets on the backs of some of the chairs so they could bundle up.

In addition to the lights and elves and carolers, there are two giant nutcrackers guarding the entrance.
The tree in the lobby is more than two stories tall and beautifully decorated.
What a great memory-making trip, quick though it always is!
