Jackson was happily kicking on the floor of the playroom, babbling and smiling at his sisters when I stepped into the laundry room to play catch-up. While folding clothes, I was summoned with a loud, giggly, "Mommy, come HERE!"
I came aroung the corner to see Jackson transformed. He was wearing Build-A-Bear clothes: a floral dress, pink sequined hat, peep-toe kitten-heel shoes, a black clutch. http://www.buildabear.com/ He was gamely putting up with it; still naively unaware of the implications of being dressed like a feminine stuffed bear.

Seeing no harm being done and everyone having a good time, I chuckled and went back to my laundry. Within a few minutes I was called back into the playroom as a witness to the wedding of Jackson and Kit Kittredge, An American Girl doll. Madeline was officiating and Katie was in charge of the music. They were about the same height, although Jackson outchunked Kit substantially.
I get the feeling the girls have only just begun. Good thing Jackson seems to be a good sport. Franz, however, seemed quite disturbed by the whole thing, mumbling something about taking him to a tractor pull to offset the damage being inflicted on his developing psyche.

I must say, we tortured Elliot. We even created a make believe character for him complete with a wig - Shirley Bean. He always played Shirley Bean when he was little... I'm pretty sure he went into one of the manliest professions he could think of to counteract his rough upbringing. I'm also pretty sure when Noah was born that he warned my parents that if the baby wasn't a boy, he was running away. :)
I remember Evan wrapped in yards of silky cloth at our insistence, although I forget the characters we played at this point. Sorry, Ev!
I had no idea what I missed out on not having a younger brother.
