Shattering Stereotypes

As I was sitting outside my bank in Sun City, making a mental list the other day, I was also absent-mindedly people-watching. Now, Sun City, for those of you who have never been there, is a mecca for snowbirds and retirees. So much of my people-watching consisted of watching groups of older people (everything is done in groups of at least twos there) walk from the doors of the bank to the parking lot, where they loaded up into their Buicks and drove off to an early lunch.

One single lady caught my attention. She was slightly stooped, wearing bright florals, and walking confidently toward her car. When she pulled out her keys and stopped at the car door, I suddenly tuned in completely. She closed the door to her lime green Kia Soul, http://www.kia.com/#/soul/explore/360-views-and-colors-exterior/ and sped out of the parking lot, shattering all the stereotypes I'd been silently accumulating all morning.
