Wow. Although in recently reading 1984 I swore to myself that it wouldn't jade me, that I'd take it on as a pleasure read and continue unimpacted, it is a depressing book. The end shows the triumph of the machine in complete and utter destruction of anything that makes man human. Humanity as we know it, doesn't exist.
Somehow, it fits with this professor's views. And that's frightening, if, indeed, the world is turning in that direction.
Gross... I can't believe how quickly views get twisted if believe in no absolute morality.
