Okay, first of all, I got a $25 gift certificate to DSW Shoe Warehouse in the mail. (Lana and Emily, back me up on this one - you just had a mental flash to the inside of that store: the gianormous collection of shoes, the low display racks in about 10 rows and around the walls...and the CLEARANCE section that lines the entire back wall.)
I imagine that the feeling I get walking into that store is not dissimilar to that feeling Dad and Evan get when they arrive at that first fishing hole in Canada, knowing the big one is out there and they are about to find it! (Or at least, walking into Cabela's!)
I have had enormous luck at that clearance section, let me tell you. However, yesterday's experience was so wonderful I really had to share it with all.

I found these cute and totally unnecessary Sketchers shoes. Check out the price tag.

But, purple means 40% off. Got the calculators going, ladies? That's $26.97. Are we all thinking what I'm thinking? That not including tax, these shoes cost me less than $2.00!
Knowing Franz as we all do, I knew I get some mileage out of this, even if he cannot achieve the same high I can over a pair of shoes. However, he does have more shoes than the average bear, himself. Plus, he loves a good bargain. I may have gone on all night about them (and Maddie, too, begging for me to find them in a "kid's size") and Franz actually lasted for about an hour before sighing in exasperation when I made yet another comment about them.
So, before I give the whole issue a rest, I just had to post my pictures and my story for the world to share my glory!

They are lovely shoes. And no wonder Maddie wants a pair - they're fun and cute and well...PINK.
Nice, sister. I sure didn't get a deal like that when I went in there (though I love that store, now, more than any other, I think).
Love the shoes!!! We have a new DSW in Indy...such great shoes and so many to choose from! :)
I had to pack light and am sick of my shoes after only 10 days. oh well. :)
