Beka and I spent the weekend hiking in three state parks in South Carolina. Had a blast. I know I look homeless, Beka told me every few minutes, as she laughed outloud. Fortunately for me I didn't really care. I stayed warm, though you can see the ice on the ground in the last picture. The icicles were melting and water was dripping off of the rock wall onto our heads. Lake Jocassee, Lake Keowee, and Caesar's Head State Park all get thumbs up from me. In order to prepare myself for my upcoming Appalachian Trail adventure I carried a partially filled pack (about 25 pounds). My legs were screaming but it was a fun way to train for the trail.
