Is anyone under the delusion that the message of this book is sinking in? Actually, the title character is called Little Miss Helpful because she's always trying to be and isn't...at all. Hmmm...
Maddie was sent to bed at 7:30 tonight for her usual tricks, but in rapid succession.
It was Laura's birthday today so Maddie and I fixed her a lemonade party cake (real name and it really is a party in a pan!) and some strawberry punch with raspberry sherbet. Maddie picked out her own card to give her. It had gerber daisies on it and began, "Happy Birthday, Cousin..." She was not to be dissuaded. We had a little party for Laura, the boys, and David and Katie. The house was jumping!

This is the least insane I've seen maddie look in a picture for a long time. She actually looks happy and cute (as does Katie), rather than somewhat like a little imp.
