Thanks to Tracy on Friday we enjoyed a wonderful tour of the incredible Metrolina Greenhouse where she works. One hundred acres under roof makes it the largest greenhouse in the world under one roof! We rode "golf carts" around to see the poinsettias of many hues, both natural and painted that are being sent out to retailers this time of year! Awesome!
In the top picture the men are spraying color, glue, and glitter on white poinsettias. The paint was first tried last year and was popular, so is being done in greater numbers this year. You can see some of the purple, blue, and "apricot" flowers in the bottom picture. There were a few other shades as well.
