Jackson's First Trip to the Library

Now that he has been walking for awhile, Jackson is finally settling down occasionally, and will sit in the same spot for 10 seconds or more. Occasionally. So, he is enjoying a good page or two out of a book during these sporadic attention spans and I thought it was high time we took this kid to the library.

I didn't know it then, but the library had just redone it's children's area to include a great toddler section, and Jackson tried out every corner of it. He approved!

It was exciting to see so many books in one place. Jackson did pull about 10 books out, one at a time, but couldn't really get into them when there was so much more to see.

For instance, the train table... Jackson has never seen a train table before. It was exactly his height, it had vehicles on it; it was perfect.

He was immediately in love. I've never seen this particular kid spend so much time on one activity!

We also had to check out the toddler sized craft area. No crafts going on at the time, but the chairs and table were smaller than the kindergarten style is. They were minute, and just his size. He couldn't have been prouder of himself to have discovered them!

I think it is his new favorite hangout, and we are sure to be back!

As you can imagine, I'm thrilled to learn of Jack's initiation into the realm of libraries. The tinier tables (as opposed to the tiny elementary school sized chairs/tables) and chairs, along with the train table are so cool! Why didn't they have these things when we were kids?! The last picture is my favorite thing. Precious little guy!
