Fortune Cookie (Mis)fortunes

It's almost eerie; certainly disconcerting. Last night, while sitting at a Chinese restaurant finishing dinner, we unwrapped our fortune cookies.

Wait, let me back up to give you a couple vital bits of information that will come in handy. We had just arrived back in town after a long road trip with the girls, and hadn't even gone home yet. Katie had just wet through her shorts, and Madeline was engaging in moments of loud crying for no apparent reason. Franz was eagerly thumbing through an Airplane Trader magazine, having just signed up for his life-long dream of pilot lessons.

Back to the story at hand...
First, I unwrapped my fortune cookie while the girls looked on impatiently, bumping around and making too much noise. It said:

"Watch out for little problems that could get a lot bigger."

Madeline immediately piped up, "Well, Katie and I ARE getting bigger all the time." I am not kidding.

Finally, I persuaded Franz to put down his airplane ads and open his cookie. It said:

"As long as you don't sign up for anything new, you'll do fine."

Again, I am not kidding.

Did I not tell you it was eerie?

That is eerie... You'll have to keep an eye on those three. ^.~ Hopefully your fortunes weren't reversed...

It sounds a bit like my first fortune after moving to the other side of the lake:

"Few new homes rarely are."

Wonderful way to start out in such a great city, yeah? ~.~;
