What a wonderful weekend we had at the annual Gottschalk Labor Day Weekend celebration on Lake Manitou in Rochester, IN! We missed the Hurley families, Anne and Duane, Roger and Judy, Chad, Toni, Chase, Tanya, and Franz, Emily, Madeline, and Katie.
I missed all of you, did you miss me? (Leslie)
The rest of us had a blast with Hillbilly Golf (made by Uncle Eddie and brought by Grandpa and Grandma Cummings), wiffle ball, Ticket to Ride, tour of Evan's house (new carpet), catching up on family news, and of course, outstanding eats! A fire in the patio fireplace Sunday night was enjoyed by many. Tent dwellers Noah and Wesley found the early morning (6:00 a.m.) gathering of the starlings (it sounded like the Hitchcock movie The Birds) to be an early alarm clock...too early.
Luke Nelson, Elizabeth's friend, and Grandpa and Grandma Gottschalk joined us, too.
We celebrated Lana's 23rd birthday and Emily Kubala's 24th birthday.
Thank you to all who came, contributed delicious food, and/or helped in prep and clean-up! We love all of you and look forward to the next family event!

Thanks to those of you who provided me with Sequence information. I have the cards cut and all the supplies I need. Just don't have it put together yet. But I do already have friends wanting to play it...converting the world one person at a time (Sequence, Catan, the GOFR, Pizza Rice Casserole...). It's the Gottschalk way.
There is no better explanation than: Gottschalk's Rule!
