What I Saw

I wish that each of you could have been here this weekend for the Lotus World Music and Arts Fest. It's an annual deal featuring musical artists literally from around the world.

Bird, Katie, and I went last night with a few friends.

I'm not sure how exactly to explain. I could start with a little list of the shows we saw:

Balkan Beatbox (electronic/world fusion), Celtic traditional band from Ireland, Bluegrass band called King Wilkie, Palestinian oud (I have no idea what that means), Brazilian acoustic (really bad, but an experience, nonetheless), contemporary Spanish flamenco, Creole Cowboys, and contemporary Nordic folk.

I understand that you have no comprehension of what these bands sounded like, but it was incredible. 5 hours we spent out there, soaking it in, buying cds (of course) and experiencing culture here in Indiana - how often does that happen? Not very, I'm afraid.

If you want to come next year, please do. You'll never find another thing like this.

Sounds awesome to me. I love a good music fest.

Of course my favorite band of all time is Treated N Released out of Rochester... or maybe it is MindShaft.... ?
