Instead of walking, Jackson is spending every waking moment working on his new magic tricks, which (in addition to irregular and unsettling shrieks, dashing for the stairs, wriggling off the changing table, and climbing under all the furniture) include:
- Opening latched doors
- Taking off his highchair tray using his feet
- Gagging himself until he throws up
- Waving goodbye with both hands
- Playing spontaneous games of peek-a-boo
- Clapping his hands
