Bring on the Tooth Fairy

So, it finally happened! Madeline has been frustratedly wondering why she was the ONLY kid she knew who hadn't lost a tooth. Well, not exactly the only one, but it seemed that way to her. She's been quizzing the dentist since half-way through Kindergarten.

This morning, she was wiggling the loosest one while lying next to me in bed when it just popped right out! She is so excited! The tooth that escaped was a lower front tooth which is a little hard to see when she smiles. Her upper front teeth are loose, too, especially since she bonked heads and did a face plant at a birthday party last week, with another kid landing on her head when she fell. That moved the wiggling process along quickly!
Not to be outdone, Katie has been loudly wishing she "was Maddie" all morning, and insisted on having her picture taken, too, on this momentous day. (As a side note, she wants you all to know that she does not approve of this pictured hair-do. She believes she looks "weird" with two small braids connected by a ponytail holder at the back. I was informed of this as they were walking out the door for school.)

Yay, Maddie! I'm so excited for you. I know you've been waiting and waiting and WAITING for this day. I hope the next two follow closely behind this first one. Congrats, baby!
