Madeline has become prolific in her artwork of late. She is especially taken with animals, like the duck, above, and balloons floating over water. Mom, you should post the cat Madeline sent you. It was the first one after the duck, which seems to have started it all. (That said, anyone still looking for birthday ideas: she could probably use another set of multiple skinny colored markers - washable preferred - since she is rapidly tearing through the current set.) The cat she mailed to Mom was promptly followed by about 6-10 additional, similar cats (set in various backgrounds) as she worked out her style, then gave way to the current "balloons over water" series.
