Weird Weather Woes

Arizona is typically a great home for weatherman flunkies. (Gee, let me guess, is it going to be sunny and clear and hot today?!) So, we tend to get excited about any little weather activity that comes our way.

Yesterday we had some big weather activity. To see how intense it was at its apex in certain parts of the valley, click here. At both our office and our home, we did have driving sheets of rain, and lots of pelting hail. I did not see the softball size hail predicted or the golfball size hail some of my friends did a mile away. The hail in the picture below was not the biggest one to land in my yard, but it was the biggest one I could get to from the safety of my porch.

Some of our favorite little critters were forced out of their usual hiding spots due to rushing water and flooding. (Arizona desert ground doesn't absorb water at all. We get those fun flash floods.) These two little guys were in our courtyard, emerging just after the hail stopped falling and the rain slacked off.

These are the critters we don't mind having around, right? Adorable little guys.
