kitty on a pole

Two kittens found their way to the farm a few weeks before the end of the season. They are the sweetest little kittens, very friendly and love attention. Terry took them from someone who was getting rid of a litter, he thought we needed some "mousers". A few days before he brought them home he asked me what I thought Jasper might think of them. I told him in a few words that I knew what Jasper would think of them. Like anything else, something new to chase!

I was not wrong in my assumption. Since day 1, Jasper has kept those two kittens at the edge of the creek up in the trees. Rain or shine those poor little kittens are always tree'd. As soon as he disappears, they are down and looking for attention. But he acts like it is his job and routinely makes rounds to keep those "intruders" away.

Below is a few pictures of the scene that was unfolding before me a week or two ago.

He is all business when it comes to those cats. He does the same thing for the chickens. We have quite a few hens that like to escape. And he rounds them up and over the fence one by one. It is a treat to watch.
