Not to be outdone, Katie had her first day of school this past Monday. She started preschool (three mornings a week) at Happy Apple, just as Maddie did when she was 3. 
Since she'd visited at open house time and had watched Maddie go into her classroom the previous week, Katie was completely comfortable with the separation that morning. I got a little wave on the way out; very nonchalant. 
That afternoon she was super talkative and thrilled to now have her very own set of friends. The name I hear referred to most often is Sunny (whose name, I happen to know, is actually Summer). Katie doesn't remember any of her other "friends" names yet.
