We realized this weekend, that we have only been home long enough to dump things and get too little sleep in the past two weeks, so my house is sadly neglected and we haven't had much time to do fun Christmas-y things at home yet. So, we took the time to put up the tree, hang the stockings, and string a few lights outside today. However, I hadn't had a chance to stock up on baking supplies for holiday goodies. While scanning the pantry for something I could throw together, this is what I came up with and I guarantee it won't be a one hit wonder.
I made a Betty Crocker fudge brownie mix, and threw in a bag of Andes peppermint baking chips. After we pulled them out of the oven, and before they'd cooled too much, we topped a brownie with a scoop of Dreyer's (Edy's) peppermint ice cream. WOW! You HAVE to try this. It is indescribably delicious! And very easy for the tight time frame.

Yum to very yum.
Now, I have to share a new treat that I randomly discovered. In the Meijer bulk coffee, I found Michigan Cherry decaf coffee beans, which I bought. When I got home, I discovered I only had peppermint mocha creamer.
They actually work splendidly together. I'll be bringing this home for the holidays later this month. Mmmm.
Also, we just had cookies tonight that were what you made, just in cookie form. Heavenly! (minus the ice cream, which I'm sure added quite a bit). I'm dreaming of this treat right now, whilst finishing up my work night.
