February Odds and Ends and Outs

I have had several ideas for deep and interesting posts floating around in my brain, but with the recent half-day notice of our Admin at the office, life has been very hectic for me and I am not getting around to any deep thinking. Back to using the shallow parts of the brain. So, let's compensate with pictures since I don't know when the situation will change.

Franz took Maddie to her school's Father Daughter Dance. It was a blast for them both. Katie felt pretty left out until I put her in a Valentine's dress and took her to Baskin Robbins where she also happened to run into a classmate. Good times for all.

One Saturday while Franz was at the office and before the weather turned cold again, the girls and I took a hike on the "mountain" trails near the house. We made it up the first hill and felt quite accomplished.

The mountain may not have been very tall, but the view was great.

I volunteered for Katie's Valentine's party at school and had to organize and manage the cookie decorating table. Well, the frosting and sprinkles flew but it was held outside so the mess wasn't permanent and fun was had by all.

Yesterday we escaped for half a day to Flagstaff. The weather was frigid on the mountain with the wind, but it was fun to play in the snow and then escape to the warmth of our favorite Mexican restaurant.

Look, even pictures of me! Who knew?
Sunset and below-freezing temps approaching, we hit the road to thaw out at home in Phoenix.

We're not used to seeing our granddaughters playing in snow in AZ. It is usually in Indiana or Illinois! How fun!

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing them.

See you soon.
