October

We've been battling stomach flu over here and ongoing personnel issues, the combination of which has left me without much time for updates. Additionally, we had a bed fiasco that resulted in Franz and I sleeping in the guest room for 6 weeks while our room was covered in pieces of three beds, making it difficult to get to and from our dressers, closets, and bathroom. I only just got the toys under control in the playroom (after our summer move) since we left behind large cabinets and window seats that contained the piles of fun at the other house. We were short a couple of dressers for the girls and at least half the rooms in the house were unusable. No landscaping (this means dirt and rocks everywhere; dust blowing in the house), a broken toilet, dishwasher, hot water recirculator, and bathroom light fixture. I don't know what all else. At any rate, it all adds up to being very tired and cranky!

We now have the right beds in the right places, a half-fixed dishwasher, a repaired light fixture, a still broken toilet and water recirculator, all but one room functional and organized, and 3/4 of the front yard landscaped. We hired a new Admin and talked through the business strategies suggested by our recently hired dealership consultant, and advertising firm.

I'm getting ready to take Katie to the doctor today due to a prolonged time of "stomach flu" (as in 9-10 days, off and on). Then, I'm heading over to the office to put together new hire paperwork and start training the new admin who starts at noon today. After that, attacking the lenthening lists and then finally to bed in my own bed in my own room! Hooray! It is all achievable again, so I'm going to post a few neglected pictures of the month of October.
Katie had a corn maze / pumpkin farm field trip with her preschool that Franz and I attended. Here are a few cute examples of the many faces of a happy Katie.
The girls love to match, and had a blast being two little silver and white angels for Halloween. The silver shoes they wore in Lana's wedding came in handy, too. We went down to the old neighborhood to catch up with friends while we walked the block, then went over for a light dinner and smores roasting with some good family friends for the rest of the evening. It was relaxing and fun. A great way to celebrate.

Love the pictures, Em.

How is that king-sized bed treating you? I know mine was the best thing that ever happened to me (that might be a slight exaggeration, but seriously...it's awesome).

Can't wait to see you at Christmas. We miss you guys.

I LOVE the bed! No joke, I cannot get up in the mornings. I day dream about sleeping there again all day long.

Precious! Emily, can you email some of the pictures of Katie, so we can print a couple?

We miss our angels!

I know exactly what you mean about the bed. Ours is the same. In fact, since we got it, I don't think we've gotten out of it on a Saturday morning before Noon. It's just TOO comfy. Wouldn't trade it for the world.
