Steve and I had the privilege of watching Lana as she received her Master's Degree in Library Sciences from Indiana University Bloomington yesterday! She has worked hard, tolerated some interesting living situations, and is ready to launch her career!
Congratulations, Lana the Librarian!!!
Congratulations, Lana the Librarian!!!
Notice the Master's Degree sleeves on her gown. Also, the lemon yellow tassel and hood represent the School of Library and Information Sciences.Lana was selected to carry the banner for the School of Library and Information Sciences, so she was easy to spot among the 1900 graduates as they processed into Assembly Hall at IU.
Dad is very proud (and so is Mom)!
After the graduation ceremony we went to the Limestone Grille for a leisurely celebratory lunch.
Lana's friend Kelly joined us for lunch. She also yesterday graduated with her Master's in Library Sciences, but did not go through the ceremony. This was her second Master's.
After that we went to Lana's rented room, loaded up our two vehicles, said goodby to Bloomington, and headed to Upland, Indiana where we were joined by Lana's friend Cat Randall at Lana's new home. We organized some things, hung pictures on the walls, made up her bed, and set up her musical keyboard (which she hadn't used in two years)!
A great day as Lana is moving into an exciting next phase of her life!

Congratulations Lana! I am sure you are glad to be moving into a new part of you life. No more school! Congrats.
Congrats Lana! How exciting...enjoy your new place!
Hooray for Lana. The next family reunion is at your pad.
I would love to host about 6 people max, so you guys can fight over who comes and when. I love my place and have to admit there is nothing that can compare to having a lot of space to oneself. I'm euphoric at best.
I'm not at all sad to say goodbye to school or the people with whom I have most recently shared a residence. I am sad, however, to say goodbye to my friends. But alas, I know I will visit them, and several have promised to visit me. So...Bueno!
Thanks for all of the congratulatory notes. I very much appreciate it!
